QRC Bank has invited Marques & Jordy to develop the design for its new headquarters. The proposal is inspired by the undulating roof of traditional architecture and by nature, in particular in a local flower – Erythrina. The iconic design serves to promote a unique identity reflecting the client’s vision.

The project takes the shape of radial and curved elements in plan, as of an open flower. Projecting 100m above the ground, the verticality is accentuated by the slim curved edges of the floors and the intricate design of the façade of various frosted glass panels. The project comprises open plan office space and presidential offices on the higher floors. The program for the podium is more complex incorporating: commercial banking areas and a multi-use exhibition space on the ground floor, conference / meeting / media centres as well as a club which would include a gym, several breakout areas and two restaurants on the floors above.

The design follows a consistent sustainable approach with high performance standards and respecting the local environment. The landscape design and features also aid to integrate the building with its surroundings.
